MICROFILM AND MICROFICHE
Even in the new millennium, we still have a need for the microfilm and microfiche machines. The advantages of these types of medium make them a brilliant choice even in the 21st century. There is a low cost to using microfilm and microfiche, and the storage cost can save you bundles over storing paper. Reproductions cost less and the films are a stable archival medium good for many years to come. The media is easier to read than digital, as it works through analog and provides a copy of the original image. Digitally your images will degrade with each copy.
In order to make use of microfilm or microfiche, you will need to purchase readers, film paper, and project lamps, among other material. We carry a full line of all of these products. Microfilm generally comes on a reel in 16mm or 35mm wide positive or negative film. This is used on readers that allow the user to wind through and read the material stored. Microfiche comes in sheet form in plastic of film with the usual size found to be 4"x6". These are inserted between two glass plates on the readers for the users to enjoy.
